Milano Marittima

Milano Marittima lies on the Adriatic coast, next to Cervia, 20 Km South of Ravenna and 37 Km North of Rimini.

Why visit it

Born in 1912 as a garden city, Milano Marittima has since become an elegant and renowned beach resort for young people and families, embracing both relaxation and liveliness.

It’s a place where fun, wellness and quality are always at home thanks to hotels, bathing establishments and shops that are attractive, safe, furnished and friendly.

Its centre is filled with restaurants and clubs that liven up during the night and avenues perfect for window shopping all framed by the surrounding nature. The blue sea with its fine sandy beaches perfectly blends together with the green and lush centuries-old pine forest, the southern part of the Po Delta park.

When to go and what to see

Milano Marittima welcomes its visitors throughout the year.

The perfect season to experience the city is during summer, a time when its soul comes alive with events, clubs, shops and many activities to enjoy surrounded by nature.

Spring and autumn are ideal to spend a relaxing weekend and get away from the usual routine, to peacefully stroll along the beach or to attend certain events.

Winter is the perfect time to visit for anyone that can’t do without the seaside even in cold weather. Milano Marittima lights up from December until January in a heartwarming display that captivates both adults and children.

Do not miss

A stroll in the city centre is not to be missed, as well as a visit to the city's heart, the Primo Maggio roundabout. Viale Gramsci is a must-see, a pedestrian street filled with shops and clubs where one can also admire Brückner’s model, a striking female figure created by Adriano Bimbi, a sculptor from Tuscany.

Walking through the tree-lined avenues so close to the sea makes the perfect setting for a journey back in time: the liberty style villas that were part of the Garden City project designed by Giuseppe Palanti can still be seen today among the pines.

Beyond the city centre Viale Due Giugno and Viale Giacomo Matteotti are perfect to visit and discover many different shops and restaurants.

A stroll along the new Milano Marittima seafront is also well worth it. Between Cervia and Milano Marittima, a stop on the north quay of the canal harbour is a must to admire “Non basta il canto delle sirene” (The Sirens’ Song Is Not Enough), the new and imposing sculpture by Valerio Berruti, unveiled in August 2025. With its poetic and minimalist lines, this monumental work interacts with the sea horizon, providing the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable photo at any time of day.

Located in the middle of the ancient pinewood, Cervia Thermal Spa is on the forefront of modern therapies, some of which also use liman, a very effective and healing lagoon mud, extracted from the salt pans.

Nature enthusiasts will appreciate a visit to the Butterfly House, an 800 square meter heated greenhouse filled with butterflies and dozens of different insect species mainly from South America and southern Africa, a heart racing and unforgettable experience.

The Congress Centre is close by, framed by the green pine forest: a multipurpose facility equipped with different rooms, more than one thousand seats, exhibition areas and catering services.

Important sports facilities such as the Adriatic Golf Club, the first 27-hole golf course on the Riviera, the "Germano Todoli" Pines Stadium, the Cervia Tennis Club, the Mare e Pineta Tennis Centre, the Nautical Club and the "Le Siepi" Equestrian Centre, host top-level events.

On the table

Cervia’s sweet salt is vastly used both in sweet and savory dishes, it’s the local culinary trademark and a good luck gift.

Restaurants in the area bring tradition to the table with cappelletti, grilled fish, Albana and Sangiovese, but it’s also revisited in modern and elegant gourmet meals.

A visit to one of the many typical piadina kiosks is in order to try one of the most famous local foods.

Fun

Kayak tours in the canal flowing through the pine forest, tree-climbing at Cerviavventura and discovering plant and animal life at the Natural Park are the ideal activities to experience nature in new and exciting ways.

Relaxing with friends during an “aperitivo” is perfect to do while admiring the sea at sunset, or in one of the clubs in the city’s centre sheltered by the pines’ cool shade.

Restaurants are always open during the evening to provide enjoyable meals, as well as shops for shopping lovers.

Keep Fit

There are many places in Milano Marittima dedicated to wellness and fitness. Thermal Spa and several bathing establishments welcome their guests with relaxing treatments, both calming and aesthetic.

The beach, the new promenade, the equipped trails and the outdoor gym in the pine forest are perfect places to go for walks, bicycle rides, having a run and enjoying activities like yoga or nordic walking while being embraced by nature.
