Have you ever imagined experiencing the Botanical Garden at night, when everything changes and nature comes alive with silent, mysterious creatures?
We look forward to seeing you at 8.00 pm for a truly special experience: an immersive evening discovering the bats that inhabit the Garden, fascinating and often little-known creatures that are fundamental to the balance of ecosystems.
Accompanying you on this nocturnal journey will be researcher Massimo Bertozzi, who will guide you through interesting facts, stories and scientific explanations, helping you to get to know the world of bats more closely and dispelling myths and misconceptions.
Thanks to the use of a ‘bat detector’ – a device capable of converting ultrasound into audible sounds – you’ll have the unique opportunity to ‘listen’ to the bats as they navigate and hunt in the dark: a surprising experience that will allow you to perceive the night with entirely new senses.
It will be an evocative evening, blending science and nature, perfect for those who are curious, love outdoor experiences or wish to discover a hidden side of the Garden, away from the light of day.
You’ll need clothing suitable for the altitude (around 700 m) and a torch to move around safely and make the most of the experience.
The event is free, but places are limited to ensure the quality of the activity and allow everyone to participate actively.
Booking is essential: don’t miss the chance to experience a night with a difference, discovering the mysterious inhabitants of the night sky!
