Until 7 January, 2024, San Domenico Museum will host the exhibition "Ercole Baldini, una leggenda Italiana" (Ercole Baldini. An Italian Legend) .
The exhibition, organised by the Municipality of Forlì, in collaboration with Minerva publishing, the champion's sons Mino and Riziero Baldini, and curated by sports journalist Beppe Conti, honors the icon of Italian cycling.
On display, for the first time the most prestigious memorabilia of his long cycling career, such as his bicycles, rainbow jerseys, cups, including the gold one celebrating the Giro d'Italia he won in 1958, and medals, including Olympic golds.
His life and glorious career is narrated by the extraordinary and unique black-and-white photographs of the great Bolognese photojournalist Walter Breveglieri, who was Ercole Baldini's sincere friend, and who followed him throughout his racing career, documenting it with numerous snapshots.
Images telling the story of Ercole Baldini's life in private and on the bicycle, the "friends/enemies" Romagna cyclists of his era and the people who waited for him to pass by the roadsides, as well as an iconographic trove on cycling before Baldini.
