On Sunday, October 12 and 19, the traditional Chestnut Festival returns to Premilcuore.
The event is dedicated to the chestnut, its harvest and the products obtained from the symbolic fruit of the autumn season.
Roasted chestnuts, castagnaccio and boiled meats, washed down with an excellent Sangiovese wine, against the backdrop of the colorful autumnal landscape of the surrounding mountains.
The streets of the village are lined with food and wine stalls offering traditional dishes such as cappelletti, polenta, tortelli nella lastra, fried piadina and grilled meats.
On Sunday, October 12, the festival will be enriched with the Raviggiolo festival, a typical cheese from the Tuscan-Romagna Apennines, a prestigious Slow Food Presidium. During the day there will also be shows, bouncy castles for children and ancient handicrafts.
On Sunday, October 19, completes the program with the traditional "masè 'e porc" (pork butchering), the transformation of pork into sausages, steaks, chops, cracklings and coppa di testa (musotto). There is also a rich calendar of entertainment: the Carrettieri band with the "sciucarén", dancers from Romagna, and harvesting in the chestnut grove, accompanied by local guides.
