The Chestnut Festival, dedicated to this traditional product, commonly known as "Mountain Bread," will be held on Sunday, October 12th and 19th, in Alfero di Verghereto.
The event will begin at 12:30 pm with lunch at a dedicated stand, the perfect time to savor the autumnal flavors of the area.
Throughout the day, a street market will be set up with food stands offering roasted chestnuts, cagnina, traditional chestnut flour sweets, and traditional fried ciacce. In the afternoon, the event comes alive with entertainment for everyone: musicians, jugglers, face painters, and street artists will liven up the town's main street and the picturesque Piazzetta Sant'Antonio.
Traditionally, in October, the entire town dedicates itself to harvesting this delicious fruit in the vast chestnut grove of Alfero, thus celebrating the local heritage and traditions.
