Seven appointments to discover the world of the past with mum and dad!
Each activity will be introduced by a short story/explanation that will introduce the individual crafts and then launch headlong into the workshop activity.
Programme:
Saturday 7 February | The art of the weaver
The legend of Penelope and her marvellous cloth will be the starting point for venturing into the noble art of weaving, loom and yarn in hand, no one will be able to stop you!
Saturday 21 February | The art of the mosaicist
We will help Lucio, a somewhat careless mosaicist, to create wonderful mosaics!
Saturday 12 September | No writing on the walls
We'll follow the hard work of an aspiring advertiser, struggling with prohibitions and rules... and then we'll finally have a blast on a free wall and leave all our messages!
Saturday 19 September | Gladiators and gladiatrixes
We will discover the history of gladiators together with the champion Spartacus, and together we will make a gladius, the sword par excellence of the Romans, symbol of courage and freedom!
Saturday 3 October | The Lost Temple
We will go in search of the temple of Isis together with its priestess, Fullonia Tertulla, an ancient Roman who is a bit... forgetful! But what is the shape of the Roman temple? Let's find out together and try to build one of our own!
Saturday 14 November | The art of miniature painting
A dive into the world of colours and symbols, letters and ancient monasteries together with the apprentice miniaturist Fra' Lorenzo... what stories will the initial of your name tell?
Saturday 19 December | Ancient gifts
How was Christmas celebrated before... Christmas? Let's discover together the tradition of the Saturnalia and, like the ancient Romans, let's make sigilla, small good luck charms made of clay, which will protect you in the new year!
At the end of the activities, children will be able to take their own little work with them.
