A morning of history, art and local folklore at the “Tesori Aperti Summer Edition 2026 – Pieve Salutare”, an event dedicated to exploring the Church of San Pietro in Vincoli, formerly known as S. Pietro in Cerreto.
Guided tour of the Church of San Pietro in Vincoli
The origins of the building are unknown, although it is known to have served as a parish church; however, its recent history is well documented, as the church was completely rebuilt following the earthquake of 1870.
The parish priests who were in charge of the church in more recent times, Don Elmo Montanari and Don Oreste Ravaglioli, distinguished themselves through their significant pastoral work, which has ensured that the parish church remains the centre of Christian life for the local community to this day.
