Following the banks of the famous river, from the sea to the hills, is a dive into history, gastronomy, crafts, music, sport and the passion for cycling that seems to infect anyone who visits this green and lush area.
About 40 km long, the Rubicon flows entirely in Romagna, with its sources in the hinterland of Sogliano. It is here that Caesar uttered the famous phrase “Alea iacta est”, entering Italy from Gaul and starting the civil war that would change the history of Italy forever.
Flat in the first part, continuing inland, the plain gradually gives way to the hills while the valley rises in altitude, with fragrant orchards and medieval villages that enrich the landscape and gratify the senses.
Sogliano al Rubicone, Roncofreddo and Borghi are just some of the villages you will encounter along the way. Small gems full of stories to tell, flavours to discover and adventures to experience.
