Landscapes, forests, nature reserves, dams and aqueducts: the Bidente Valley is an area of great archaeological value that takes its name from the river of the same name, whose sources are located in the forests that divide Emilia-Romagna from Tuscany.
Flowing downstream, the river reaches Meldola and takes the name of Ronco, and then joins the Montone river near Ravenna and finally flows into the Adriatic, at Lido di Dante.
Going up along the Via Bidentina, which originates on the edge of the city of Forlì, you will come across the towns of Meldola, Rocca delle Caminate, Cursercoli with its Castle, Civitella, Galeata and finally Santa Sofia, the starting point for some of the best excursions in the area.
From here, following the three different branches of the Bidente (Ridracoli, Corniolo and Pietrapazza) you reach the famous Ridracoli Dam, which has become a tourist attraction due to its grandeur and its location on the edge of the Lama Forest; the village of Corniolo which continues to Campigna, in the heart of the Casentinesi Forests, where the Sasso Fratino Integral Nature Reserve is also located; and the charming abandoned village of Pietrapazza, which can be reached from Santa Sofia moving towards Poggio alla Lastra.
A unique natural heritage, rich in sports activities, food and wine experiences and an extensive calendar of events.
